I made this mini guide by copy and pasting a comment I sent to someone who was looking for a tablet, but then I wrote a little more because I think this information is useful.

I see a lot of people ask around about what tablet to buy. As much as I would love to recommend a Wacom tablet, they're too expensive for most people's price ranges.
But, fear not! There are many options available.

I recently found this wordpress site dedicated to reviewing tablets that are mostly cheaper than what Wacom offers.

digitalarttabletguides.wordpre…

Also this blog here, if you take the time to scroll through it all, has a lot of useful reviews about tablets, most of which are cheaper than Wacom products.

frenden.com/

To me these have been invaluable in helping me search for budget tablets to recommend to people who are looking for a tablet. You can use these to find a tablet that meets your specs and preferred price range, and then afterwards you can search up the model name or model number on google and read several reviews to make sure that it's good. If the tablet generally averages a score of 8/10, 9/10, 10/10, or 4/5 or 5/5, then it's probably good, but be sure to read written reviews or watch Youtube reviews in case Somebody mentions that they've had an issue with it.

If it's still looking too pricey for you, you can check sites like Ebay and Craigslist for a person selling a used tablet.

Once one of these companies releases a tablet with all of the features I want, I am leaving Wacom forever and hopefully never spending more than 250 on a tablet ever again. Remember, there are so many tablets out there. You don't need to drop hundreds of dollars on an expensive Wacom tablet if you do not want to, and more competitors are popping up every year!

I think it's better for me to post the adopts all on one day rather than post at least one, once per day.

From now on, starting on or around the weekend of April 27 or May 4, adopts will come in groups or batches for the most part. I still may occasionally post one-offs, if they don't really belong in a batch that's in my backlog.

I originally made a commitment to try to post at least one adopt per day for the whole month of April. I have done so from April 1 to April 16, with most days being 1 adopt but some days being 3.

but I am considering a different schedule.

I have a backlog of over 30 adopts that I have not posted yet. At the rate I have been making them at, which I started in late march, I may have even more by the time the month ends.

Should I continue posting one a day, or should I post all of them on a weekend near the end of the month? I am considering April 27 or May 4 to be the day they all get posted.

The advantage of posting all 30+ at once is that I could get a break from the daily posting and advertising the adopts. It may also give viewers a wider selection to pick from all on one day, rather than having to wait for a drip-feed across a span of many days.

The disadvantage I see is that 30+ adopts posted on one day could be overwhelming. But again, I think that more choices (rather than less) outweighs the downsides of that. I've seen other people here on DA post 30+ adopts all on one day or weekend and people seemed to have a good time with that.

Especially adopts based on-

-Animals
-Fantasy creatures
-Furries
-Sonic OCs
-Ponies

I really want to check out some of the adopts groups around DA. I may even consider making one if I can't find one that fully satisfies what I am looking for.

I've had some recent thoughts about moving to a new DA account, or maybe not.

One possible option for me would be to move to a new DA account for most of my art, but keep this account around for selling adopts and YCH commissions, so that they wouldn't clutter up the new account.

What do you think?
